Busen School of Taxidermy

     Experience a hands-on accelerated course covering Mammals, Birds and Fish in an individualized, personal environment. 

     Instructor Rudy Busen uses his 27 years of Taxidermy and 14 years of teaching experience to work closely with you and help you avoid the pitfalls that cause the “Do it yourself taxidermists” to throw up their hands in defeat.

     It’s the personal attention that makes the difference.  Our working classroom is relaxed and fun.  No pressure here.  You will enjoy learning to create lifelike mounts.

     You will mount four specimens, which are provided. Classroom tools are provided.  One fish; one shoulder mount deer; one bird and one life sized mount.  These mounts go home with you for reference and to begin your own taxidermy studio. That’s easily $2,000 worth of specimens!

     You will learn to measure capes and various tanning techniques; tips and tricks to make your work more lifelike and detailed than the average taxidermist.  Bring your camera for close ups of key techniques for reference guides when you go home.

     You will receive a framed certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Lodging  

   Room and board is your responsibility. We are located on Beaver Lake.  Several reasonable hotels with kitchenettes are nearby.  Transportation to and from the hotel can be arranged if necessary. You may also bring a camping trailer if you wish.

Pricing

A 4 week course is only $4,200.  A six week course is $5,000 and includes habitat creation.
